Cyanclopes: A must-see for Halloween in Manchester

You might have noticed something lurking in our Atrium…

This Halloween, Cyanclopes the inflatable monster has arrived at The Corn Exchange! He’s one of 16 giant inflatable monsters that have taken over rooftops across Manchester city centre as part of the city’s beloved giant inflatable monster trail. Our bulging eyed monster, who sits watching over people in the Atrium, is called Cyanclopes and has been named by one of our followers! Check out the post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyGtSNsN7Hz/

You might have seen some other inflatable monster on your journey to The Corn Exchange such as ‘Horrible Harvey’ who can been seen towering over Harvey Nichols, or ‘Chomper’, who is literally taking a bite out of The Arndale!

The monsters, created by artists Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, are available to spot from Wednesday 25th – Tuesday 31st October across the city. These spooky installations are part of Halloween in the City, which is organised by CityCo and Manchester BID.

If you dare visit us at night, you’ll be able to see our building turn ghoulish green, along with the rest of the city on the lead up to the frighteningly-fun two-day event over the weekend of Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th October.

During this weekend, families can head down to Monsters Rock! Music Festival, which will take place across New Cathedral Street, St Ann’s Square, Market Street and Exchange Square and feature spooky live bands, DJs, rides and circus acts. Spectators can also watch the family friendly freakshow with roaming circus monsters, sideshow stalls and hall of mirrors at St Ann’s Square for the Carnival of Monsters.
